Write it down while someone still knows
The clock from the farmhouse, the ring that crossed the Atlantic, the medal nobody talks about — each gets photographs, a description, and a provenance chain recording who had it, when, and how it moved. Append-only, so the family story accumulates without being rewritten by whoever tells it last.
Honest gaps beat confident guesses
